The 2013 Circle of Mercy Golf Outing will take place Monday, June 10, 2013 at Hartford Golf Club in West Hartford. It’s time to start thinking out of winter’s rough; plan to be with us for a great day of golf. For non-golfers, our tournament dinner and charity auction provide a wonderful evening of entertainment.

The President’s College at the University of Hartford Brings “The McAuley Lecture Series” to The Mercy Community This Spring
The President’s College at the University of Hartford is partnering with The Mercy Community on “The McAuley Lecture Series.” Members of the University’s erudite faculty will avail residents of The McAuley as well as the general public of intellectual discussions on topics that cover a wide variety of disciplines and interests. Attend the inaugural McAuley Lecture Friday, January 25 at 1:00 p.m. in The McAuley Auditorium, 275 Steele Road in West Hartford. Louis Manzione, Dean of the College of Engineering, Technology and Architecture, presents “Cyberspace and Innerspace: The Role of the Internet and Nanotechnology in Creating a Sustainable Future.”
- Friday, February 22 – What is a Language?
Join us for the second in The McAuley Lecture Series presented by the University of Hartford’s President’s College. Humphrey Tonkin, University Professor of Humanities and President Emeritus, is widely published in English Renaissance literature (Shakespeare and his contemporaries) and in aspects of language policy and planning. His February lecture will explore dialects, conundrums and common misperceptions of language.
- Friday, March 22 – Searching for Shangri-La, the Hidden Paradise
Catherine Stevenson, Emeritus Professor of English at the University of Hartford, will lead us in an examination of the ancient origins of the notion of Shambola/Shangri La in Hindu and Buddhist texts, as well as its influence on spiritualism in the 19th century and its impact on 20th century culture.
- Friday, April 26 – Whatever Happened to Little Miss Muffet? Music in Early Childhood.
John Feierbrand, Professor of Music Education and Director of the Division of Music Education at The Hartt School, will deliver the final installment in The 2013 McAuley Lecture Series. Join us in learning about young children’s development of musical intelligence, behavior and spirit.
Admission to the lecture series is $25.00 for residents of The McAuley. It is free to Fellows of the Presidents' College and $15.00 per lecture for all others. Each event will take place in The McAuley Auditorium at 1:00 p.m.
